This site is one of the best THS location to spend time relaxing with views over Carsington Water (https://www.carsingtonwater.com), walking or cycling a circular loop around the reservoir or taking part in some water sports or fishing on the lake.

Its the closest campsite location to the Carsington Water visitor centre (a short 5min walk).

There is the Knockerdown Inn (http://www.knockerdown-inn.co.uk) a short 5mins walk up the road (visible from the campsite). For those who like to walk and explore, the Miners in Carsington village is a great place to (https://www.theminerscarsington.co.uk/menus) stop off for a bite to eat and a drink when walking or cycling around reservoir.

If you like sweet treats and homemade pastries, The Pudding Room (http://www.thepuddingroomderbyshire.co.uk) is also a short 5 minute walk from the site and has a lovely tea room.

The nearest town centre is Ashbourne (15mins by car) and is a great place to explore and shop, featuring large supermarkets such as Sainsburys and Aldi to pick up your weekly shop.
