Get your very best 1940’s costumes on and join Kennys Hero’s.

Come join us for a fun event at Bakewell and enjoy the town carnival.

The site is just down the road from the Bakewell festival on that carnival street procession weekend. The Bakewell Showground is home to the very famous Bakewell show, catering for all sizes of events. It is a wonderful 30 acre site situated in the picturesque Wye valley just outside Bakewell town centre. Flanked by countryside, and so close to the nooks and crannies of the historic market town, the Showground is so easy to get to, just off the A6. The parking is superbly organised at every event and so are all the amenities.

This year’s theme - VE Day 80th Anniversary.

Come and join us with the DDA float in WW2 VE Day 40’s costume cosplay for the celebrations. Its a fun-packed weekend with entertainment and a competition for the best dressed on Saturday. So come and fly the VE Day flag and enjoy a special event with our evening singing entertainers on stage.

Fancy making it a longer break come and join us at the pre-Bakewell meet at Lees Meadow where we will make the parade and float costumes for the coming event. We need outfitted volunteer float followers in costume - WW2 armed forces, 40’s civvy dress up and Spitfire and Hurricane cardboard box plane costumes.
