Shardlow Marina 31st March-2nd April
This being our first meet as stewards, Marian and I thought we would make the effort to impress the committee and fellow caravanners by showing a bit of class and getting dressed up. We stood at the barrier with the dreaded swipe card waiting for the caravans to flow in. It was quite a picture to see everyone's faces when they saw us, me with a Dickie bow and Marion in a long skirt, most people thought they had come to the wrong DA or the Caravan club, by mistake.
We had an amazing attendance 57 units in all. An excellent venue with a pub on site for food and entertainment although it was marred a little by some of the owners regulations.
Coffee morning went well despite the weather, we decided we would carry on with the upmarket theme by using doyleys on plates with biscuits, cake and sweets and a few flowers in a vase (very posh) at the coffee morning we presented a prize to the quiz winners Dave, Mal and Malc ,and also a prize for the lucky caravan draw which was won by Gary Hudson.
We hope everyone had a good time despite us having to be off the field by 2pm.We hope to see you again in the near future, but we will be dressed in our usual trackies and sweatshirts.
Phil and Marion xx
