National Feast of Lanterns 2011, Newark Showground
We had a decent turn out for the N.F.O.L. at Newark Showground. The venue was really good and well drained despite the rain on Friday. Our pennon was on display on the pennon parade followed by D.D.A. members.
We won the small group section in the mardi-gras parade, this was a great surprise to all of us as it was done by D.A. members who have never D.A. camped before but are looking forward to trying it. Thanks go to Dave Gunn and co for their efforts in putting Derbyshire on the map.
I think a big thank you is due to Central Counties for a great meet, well organised with great entertainment…….a tough act to follow for North West Region next year. 2014 see’s North Central Region having to tackle the task.
