Report for Darley Dale May THS
With 123 units attending over the two week period, 97 were visitors from as far afield as West Scotland, Isle of Wight, Spen Valley, Fenland, Aylesbury Vale, New Forest, West Kent and London D.A’s, as well as more local D.A.’s like Cheshire, Staffordshire, Notts, Trent Valley, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Fenland. There were 49 children on site, very good for us.We had at least two virgin campers, both Derbyshire D.A. members, who both commented how much they have enjoyed their experiences over the week. We also had members who even though they have been members for a while had never tried D.A. or T.H.S. camping. They have all commented that they will be out doing more of it. All in all a total success!
We can’t give enough credit to the stewards Vince and Dianne Rose and Mark and Kelly Carter, as well as helping the new members set up their units they have occupied lots of the children with colouring competitions, nature events and games. This gives members a great view of Derbyshire D.A. and hopefully will attract them back next year as well as later on this year.
Thanks to all of the stewards for their diligence and friendliness which made the meet what it was, GREAT!
Regards
Pat Jackson
