Highfield’s Happy Hens

A new site for 2008 and booked again for next year!
Although the weather forecast was inclement to say the least, a disappointing 10 units turned out. Not one child was camping with us despite Happy Hens being geared up for children, a shame really.
Thanks to Pat and Barry for standing in and stewarding, also to The Clulow's and Joan for the entertainment Saturday night, with skittles, shove halfpenny, and bingo….which I won twice.
We had a visit to a micro brewery where the beer was a fantastic 6.5%.......well worth a visit at £2 per pint. Thanks to John, an old DA member, who owns it and was the host for the afternoon.
It is well worth a visit to the farm even if not camping. The farm is not open to visitors on Sundays.

DDA only has 2 meets left this year including New Year, which is a booked meet.
The Xmas Party at Cavendish Cottage follows the usual format, with the children’s party in the afternoon and the main one at night. The hall will be open after the first party so that visitors have somewhere to sit till the evening party starts. We look forward to seeing you there…..come and camp with us and enjoy the party without having to drive.
All the best for Xmas and the New Year.
Regards
Pat Jackson

TomTom Points of Interest

If you use the TomTom Satellite Navigation System to find your way around the country you may like to add the postcodes for Derby DA sites to your Maps as Points of Interest. These are not 100% accurate as not all field we use have postcodes so you still need to look out for the yellow DDA signs, hopefully as we visit each site we can record the actual latitude and longitude for each site so that in the future we will be able to make this system more accurate.
This file will enable you to see where various sites are on the map browser or you can navigate to any site by using the advanced planning option to navigate to a POI (Point of Interest). But please check the route and that it is suitable for towing vehicles before you set off.

To install this feature on to your TomTom,

click the download button below and choose 'Open' then extract the two files to a folder on your computer where you will be able to find it later.

Now connect your TomTom to your computer in your usual way and copy the two files DerbyDA sites list.ov2 and DerbyDA sites list.bmp to the folder on your TomTom where the Great Britain or Western Europe Maps are found.

In TomTom preferences go to Manage POI's and enable/disable POI's then tick DerbyDA Sites List. You will now have all the Derby DA rally sites for 2008 on your TomTom.
